Description
The Water and Fisheries Unit is responsible for the County Administrative Board's task to promote and develop commercial fishing, aquaculture, and recreational fishing in the county.
The unit handles national assignments regarding investigations of general fishing interests in environmental assessments. Here is the preparation secretariat that coordinates the County Administrative Board's tasks regarding water management. The unit also coordinates the County Administrative Board's work with the national plan for modern environmental conditions for hydropower operations. The unit also handles dam safety supervision and supervision of dams according to the Environmental Code.
Job Responsibilities
We are looking for an employee who will work with case management in the field of fisheries, primarily within the county. The case management is mainly linked to the Fisheries Act but also to other Swedish laws and to EU regulations and directives. The work includes collaboration with municipalities and other stakeholders such as professional fishermen, aquaculturists, and fishery management areas. Responding to internal referrals related to environmental protection, urban planning, and business may also occur from a fisheries perspective. There are good opportunities to adapt the specific focus of your tasks based on your experiences, knowledge, and areas of interest.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with an academic background in the natural sciences with a focus on biology, limnology, ecology, or other relevant education. If you have education in fish biology/fish ecology and experience in case management and authority exercise, it is an advantage, as well as experience that includes reviewing and producing reports and decisions.
We place great importance on your personal qualities. We particularly value your good ability to collaborate and that you are service-oriented and can meet and cooperate with people both within and outside the authority. In your work, you are structured and self-driven.
Good knowledge of the Swedish language, especially written, is required, and you need to have good computer skills to carry out your tasks effectively.
A driving license (B) is a requirement for the position.

This may mean that a security review and record check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted before employment. In some cases, Swedish citizenship is required.
